Alberto Lantigua, 37, of Danbury, was arrested on Thursday for drug offenses, which stemmed from an investigation that began months earlier, said Danbury Police Department Lt. Mark Williams.
The investigation was initiated after investigators received complaints from concerned citizens regarding Antigua’s illegal activity. Based on a further investigation, the department was able to receive search warrants for his home and his cell phones, Williams said.
On Thursday, investigators from the Special Investigations Division, Community Conditions Unit, Patrol and Bethel Police Department apprehended Lantigua as he entered his driveway and parked.
He was arrested when investigators found him to be in possession of more than two pounds of pot, packaging materials, a scale and several hundred dollars in cash, Williams added.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, possession with 1,500 feet of a school, possession with intent 1,500 feet within a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a child.
Lantigua is being held on $50,000 bond.
